Dominion® KX II, awarded "Best KVM" by InfoWorld, allows BIOS-level access to servers at the rack, over IP and via modem. Fully featured when deployed stand-alone, or integrated with Raritan's CommandCenter® Secure Gateway management system, Dominion KX II supports rack-mounted servers, as well as IBM®, HP and Dell® blade servers.
Now, we've embedded a FIPS 140-2–validated cryptographic module running on a Linux® platform per FIPS 140-2 implementation guidelines on all Dominion KX II models (except Dominion KX II 101 and KSX II). This means you have the ability to securely access and control any server in your IT infrastructure, from anywhere at any time, day or night.
The cryptographic module used by the Dominion KX II has been validated by The Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP) for FIPS 140-2 Security Requirements for Cryptographic Modules, and other FIPS cryptography–based standards. So it meets the requirements for any U.S. and Canadian federal agency mandated to use FIPS 140-2 cryptography.
When in FIPS mode, additional security enhancements are enabled:
- KVM, virtual media and smart card encryption is enforced
- FIPS-approved encryption algorithms (AES) are mandated
- Passwords are stored via FIPS-approved hashes
- You can create a FIPS-compliant SSL certificate with approved hashes
- FIPS mode status is displayed by KX II user interface
